Academic International students at Chigwell are very successful and the vast majority go on to study at G5 universities (42% in 2024). Boarding houses are run by highly qualified and senior academic staff, and we run a dedicated programme to guide potential Oxbridge applicants through the rigorous application process. Pastoral We are here in "loco parentis": that is, in the place of parents, and look after the boarders at all times outside the school day; to help and advise, and take care of the safety and welfare of the pupils. Boarders here benefit from a dual pastoral support system, where they are also members of our ‘day houses’, in which they are part of our local pupil community. Facilities and Location Uniquely positioned, our 100-acre site benefits from the leafy surroundings of Epping Forest while being on the Central Line Tube for easy access to the City of London in around 35/40 minutes. The houses are all situated onsite and share the central School facilities including playing fields, dining hall, theatre, library and coffee shop. Our brand new Sport and Wellness Centre is home to a six-lane swimming pool, gym, fitness suites, climbing wall and even a cafe.

Boarding at Chigwell aims to create a friendly and supportive home-from-home for international pupils in the sixth form. We specialise in helping foreign pupils adapt happily and securely to living and studying in the UK, and preparing them for successful entry into British universities. We are an ambitious, academically selective school that focuses on ensuring that our pupils are fully supported by our pastoral team through individualised care which enables them to achieve their best.
