Ambitious, Creative, Active and Caring
Queen’s is a child-centred family school with excellent pastoral care, which develops confidence and awareness of others. The spirit and heart of this very special community ensures the inclusion of every pupil across all ages and ability. The Queen’s Diploma is a sixth form initiative developed to prepare our young adults for and strengthen their opportunities in early adulthood and later life. Through this Diploma, our students will build new skills, gain a range of attributes and develop a habit of lifelong learning and commitment to citizenship. Part of the HPL (Higher Performance Learning Global Community) HPL fits perfectly with the Queen’s ethos and mission to prepare young people ‘not for school, but for life’ and is driven by sound academic research. HPL is an important part of our plan to achieve our long term aims and to prepare our students for an unknown future, creating resilient, creative, and independent learners.
Message from School
"Queen’s provides an education for life; our school motto ‘we educate not just for school but for life’ is as relevant today as it was when the school was founded in 1843. We cater for the needs and talents of individual pupils to help them to fulfil their potential and exceed their expectations. We work closely in partnership with parents and keep regular contact. Academic results are clearly important but are only part of the all-round education we provide. High quality teaching and learning are the core of our academic success. The teaching is innovative, creative and inspires intellectual curiosity. The needs of each individual can be catered for in small classes and every pupil is made to feel special. Pupils feel comfortable talking to staff, and specialist assistance is readily available when required. We really do encourage you to visit us and feel the special atmosphere that prevails."
