We are honoured to welcome Professor Siew C. Ng, an international authority in gastroenterology and microbiome research, who will share her remarkable career journey. Discover how she evolved from a medical student and researcher into a thought leader who directs interdisciplinary research centres and translates scientific insights into societal impact through an entrepreneurial mindset. Speaker Profile: Professor Siew C. Ng currently serves as Associate Dean (Research) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Faculty of Medicine, holds the prestigious Croucher Professorship in Medical Sciences, and is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics. She is the Director of the Microbiota I-Center (MagIC) and Associate Director of the Center for Gut Microbiota Research. Recognised as a New Cornerstone Investigator, Professor Ng is a world-renowned leader in the fields of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), gut microbiome research, and Faecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT). She holds several distinguished fellowships, including from the Royal College of Physicians (UK), and possesses extensive experience spanning clinical practice (Honorary Consultant at the Prince of Wales Hospital), pioneering research, translational medicine, and entrepreneurship. She stands as an exemplary figure for contemporary medical students and researchers. Education & Expertise: Education: MBBS (UK), PhD (University of London), FRCP (London), among other qualifications. Clinical & Research Expertise: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Faecal Microbiota Transplantation, Gut Microbiome, Colorectal Cancer, Endoscopy. Research Interests: The epidemiology, genetics, pathogenesis, and treatment of IBD; the role of gut microbiota in health and disease; microbial therapeutics.
