St. Francis’ College is located in the leafy environs of Letchworth Garden City, the world’s first garden city. Letchworth is just 45 minutes, by train, north of London and within easy reach of the historical city of Cambridge. Our pupils achieve excellent GCSE and A-level results year after year with all girls obtaining places at their chosen universities. Teaching classes remain small, ensuring every pupil receives individual attention to fulfil her true potential. St. Francis’ College boarding has a strong family atmosphere supported by a boarding staff made up entirely of academic tutors. The College has a wide range of on-site sports and extracurricular facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and a 330-seat purpose-built theatre. New science laboratories and IT suites have recently been installed, together with Smart Boards and projectors in classrooms. St. Francis’ College has a long and successful tradition of welcoming students from all over the world. Our international students are integrated into every aspect of College life; they follow a full curriculum and participate in a wide range of social events and activities. We are proud of the cultural diversity of our school community, which currently includes more than 20 different nationalities.
