Looking back, attending a UK boarding school was a pivotal step in my journey from boyhood to adulthood. It wasn't just the structured learning or the impressive facilities that shaped me, but the immersive boarding experience itself. As a shy young man thrown into a different culture far from home, I faced challenges that were essential in forming my character.
At Charterhouse, I honed my social skills and found a crucial balance between high-level academics and personal hobbies. This journey of self-discovery put me in good stead for my next big stage at the University of Cambridge. By the time I arrived at Cambridge to pursue my Master's degrees in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, I had already developed the independence and resilience needed to thrive in such a demanding academic environment.
That defining decision was reached with the guidance of Battie and her team at AA. Decades later, I still recall their solicitous advice and professionalism; in fact, Battie remains a personal friend to this day. I wish AA continued success and have no doubt they will continue to change lives for generations to come.
