From Biochemistry to Music Education—Heidi’s Interdisciplinary Journey Heidi Luk, The King's School, Canterbury | Imperial College London | Royal Academy of Music

Congratulations to Academic Asia Hong Kong on its 45th Anniversary! Your dedication to education has shaped countless futures, including my own, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunities you provided me.

My journey began with a music audition that changed my path forever. Receiving both a music and academic scholarship to study at The King's School, Canterbury was a defining moment. The school's exceptional faculty and facilities nurtured my passion for music, enabling me to grow as a violinist. Studying under Mr. Andrew Pollock from the London Symphony Orchestra sharpened my skills, and my involvement in orchestras, quartets, and chapel choir enriched my artistic development.

Beyond music, King's gave me a well-rounded education. My love for learning led me to Imperial College London to study Biochemistry, but music remained my true calling. As a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, I later pursued my Master's in Violin Performance at the Royal College of Music. Looking back, The King's School played the most vital role in shaping my musicianship.

Now, as a music educator, I am committed to passing on my experiences to future generations. Academic Asia made all of this possible, and I sincerely thank them for their unwavering support. Here's to many more years of success!
